Overview

Ice festival is one of the largest and oldest festival held annually at Khusgul Lake, which is attracted by many domestic and foreign tourists. The festival features gatherings of locals, nomadic reindeer, shaman, musician and athlete performances. It continues with Sumo (Japaese wrestling), skating, horse sled race, and car race. Many national games are played among tourists and citizens.

    Day 1 : Ulaanbaatar

    Ulaanbaatar is the capital city of Mongolia. The 1 of 3 of the population lives in Ulaanbaatar and it’s a modern metropolis. This day we will have city tour including Gandan Monastery and the National Museum. Rest of the day you have some time to prepare for the big trip.

    Day 2 : Amarbayasgalant Monastery

    On the way to Khuvsgul Lake we will drop Amarbayasgalant Monastery which is a large Buddhist monastery located in the foothills of Burenkhaan and in the valleys of the Iwen River in the Baruunburen soum of the Selenge province of Mongolia. The construction began in 1727 and ended in 1736. During the repression in 1937, the monastery building was severely damaged, with more than 40 temples and cathedrals 207m long and 175m wide, and now there are 28 churches and temples.

    Day 3 : Bulgan Province

    Next day we will head to Bulgan Province. Stay overnight at Baatarvan camp.

    Day 4-6 : Khuvsgul Province

    Murun is the capital city of Khuvsgul Province. We have lunch at Murun and drive short road to Khatgal where the ice festival is held.     We spend 3 days at White Lake where reindeer people live. Here we can get acquainted with their unique wild lifestyle.

    We will get back to Murun. After lunch we can go around Murun city.

    Domestic flight back to Ulaanbaatar. After lunch you can have leisure time to go shopping. The guide will offer you the shopping centers to find what you want to buy. Amazing performance of traditional dance and folk in the evening.
