Ulaanbaatar is the capital city of Mongolia. The 1 of 3 of the population lives in Ulaanbaatar and it’s a modern metropolis. This day we will have city tour including Gandan Monastery and the National Museum. Excursion to Zaisan Hill Memorial to get your bearings with a panoramic view of the whole city. Rest of the day you have some time to prepare for the big trip.
Take domestic flight to Dalanzadgad. Yoliin am, a sunless canyon located in the middle of the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan Mountain. Small streams flow through the gorges, and in winter they are covered with ice. There was ice throughout the year, but in recent years, due to global warming, most ice has melted. In some places, where the canyons do not have the eternal sun, the ice is thicker than 1 meter. /60km 1 hour driving/
Next day our travel itinerary continue as a Khongor Sand Dunes. The sand stretches for about 180 kilometers behind the Sevrei and Zuulkhon mountain. It covers an area of 965 square kilometers and runs from north to west. It is very beautiful to see the sand in the valley, with the rocky mountains in front, the sandy dunes in the middle, and the oaks along the northern slopes. We will spend 2 days at this fascinating place, so you have enough time enjoy the weird nature, lush green vegetation supported by a small river, named Khongor and have some adventure time riding a camel. /200km 5-6 hours of driving//
Drive to the Bayanzag, also known as the Flaming Cliffs, where the first dinosaur eggs were discovered in 1922 by Roy Chapman Andrews. In this huge paleontological site, you will have a chance to walk on the ground where the Dinosaurs once roamed 60 million years ago.On this day, you will discover not only dinosaur’s but ancient human’s remains too. Photo shooting of the flaming cliffs and watching a documentary about this wonderful place is suggested in the evening./160km 4-5 hours of driving/
Ongi monastery, there are now only ruins, which at one time was the largest religious site where over 300 monks congregated. Around the Ongi monastery there are 5 sacrificial piles around the mountain. There are still 5 piles: Quadrangular, Buddhist, Lobsang Jamba, Bumbat, Saikhan-Ovoo. This is one of the greatest heritages of mongolian religion. /180 km 4-5 hours of driving/
Drive to Kharkhorin the ancient capital of Mongolian Empire built by King Ugudei in 1235. The city is huge historical heritage of Mongolia. Visit Erdene Zuu Monastery and KharKhorum Museum and local market for interesting souvenirs and artworks. /220km 5-6 hours of driving/
Drive deep into the heart of Khangai Mountain Range to explore Khorgo volcanic crater and The White Lake. There are dozens of extinct volcanoes here in a comparatively a small area. Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake /White Lake/ was created by the lava river when the Khorgo volcano erupted 9 thousand years ago. The lake area is now home to many endangered species of flora and fauna. White lake is a good spot for bird watching and photographing. /200km 4-5 hours of driving/
Take a scenic drive to Jargalant hot springs. Mineral water rich with sulfur emerges from the ground (300m) at 70 degrees Celsius. Relax in the outdoor bath. We will take you away from the tourist area to a real nomadic family. Visit a local horse breeder family and live like a Mongolian Nomad for a day! Get involved in their daily life and take a class on milking livestocks and play ankle bone games. This is a real experience and will be an unforgettable highlight of this tour. /120km 3-4 hours of driving/
Drive to Murun town, the capital of Khuvsgul Province. Take a city tour of Murun town and visit a local market and town museum. Visit the richest bronze age burial site called Uushgi uvur to see famous deer stones./200km 5-6 hours of driving/
The Blue Pearl - Khuvsgul Lake, the deepest and purest lake in Mongolia. The lake is one of the few glacial lakes left from the last ice age. In summer time, it appreciates tourist with its unique sky-blue view. You have an opportunity to trek to the lakeside & mountain for a better view and photo shooting. Explore the flora & fauna of Khuvsgul lake area. Next day we will take a boat to see reindeers herders. It takes about 30 minutes on the boat. You have a chance to take your memorable pictures with reindeers and herders. In the evening, farewell bonfire party and share your feedback of the tour with your group members. /140km 3-4 hours of driving/
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
After breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport.
